Sorry Wannas, that is the answer of someone who plays Call of Duty, the reality is so much more bloody.

I dont play "COD" thanks, the politicians (and MOD) have no stomach for all out "no holds barred" warfare in Afghanistan, they are to blame, no invading force has ever won in that country, we tried it 150 years ago, the Russians tried it and lost 250,000 men (and they DIDNT hold back) so what would you suggest?

as a war on terrorism it has failed, as a war on drugs it has failed....The USA has lost 1955, we have lost 433

Deaths amongst coalition forces are INCREASING, when we withdraw the country will descend into all out civil war, but it always has been like that!

Thats a good reply mate, =D>

Personally I think it would be better if our troops were used to defend our borders and removing those intent on causing us harm and creating hate among our people

Interestingly Toots, the war on terror as it is called, is about defending our borders. The idea, I think, is that by fighting these terrorist in their own back yard is preventing them fighting in our gardens.

That would depend upon your view of "winning". If we think that we can obliterate the opposition, whoever they are then, no, we can't win. If we can keep them away from our borders by fighting them in their country then, it could be said that we are "winning".
It is the cost of "winning" that most of us find abhorent.

Yes weve got the firepower, army, ect ect but were not getting anywhere are we.Are we safer than we were before, thats debatable, i dont think we are.It has the echos of Vietnam when the Americans fecked up there. Also Northern Ireland, occupying countrys breeds terrorism and i dont believe were doing ourselves any favours by being in Iran or Afghanistan.Peronally speaking id get our lads out of these countrys asap

I don't think we are in Iran are we? Aren't our forces in Afganistan being reduced already and they are all due to leave by sometime in 2014.

I meant iraq, but now you mention it Iran is probally next on Americas so called war on terror. So do you believe Afganistan has been worthwhile ? Do you remember when we invaded Iraq and it would be over in weeks ? Are we any safer ? The answer to me is it was a mistake, thought so at the time and still do now.

Didn't we leave Iraq in 2009?
