Many critics of the European Union on here so given a vote how would you vote

IN-------------------

OUT------------

and why ? :D

Out, Cos we never voted to join, weve never had the promised IN/OUT referendum and they want our money

(But it wont happen)

There was a referendum in the mid '70s. 67 percent of the british who voted wanted to be in the EEC.

Back in the day when it was good and not filled with these Eastern European countries.

Maybe, cos they do want to sell to us as well.

Just as likely they'll make an example of you, to stop others getting the same idea.
Even if they allow it, which I doubt, they will extract a high price.

Interesting but of course from most somewhat simplistic {wannabe bloodknock sussex the normal morons] the LEFT told you 40 years ago where this capatalist club would end up but pillocks voted for it  and of course we got it correct and now they squeal :D :D :D :D

Now getting out is championed by all and sundry as a cure for the nations problems which it wouldnt be! its gone too far and Thatcher years of demolition of manufacturing and new Labours freeing the banks up for criminal activity means to me were in the poop and burning your bridges with Europe would be catastrophic!

The Racist's of course sling in their bile but conveniently forget THEIR the immigrants are used as cheap labour by the EMPLOYERS now of course the good old CLOSED SHOP UNIONISATION would stop that crap but of course the filthy Lady of the Night thatcher shut that door.

So I reckon stay in but reform it I want to see the European Union's working closer together against the Multi Nationals and Governments a European wide GENERAL STRIKE until the BANKSTERS are locked up would be a good start :D :D :D

Dream on....We ain't no more loved or liked in the Business world than our English or Welsh UK neighbours are. Where do you get this Idea that we Scots are in some way better placed to deal with the Euroslugs than anyone else is..

Take it to another thread.

Can't be arsed to...besides it sits here just fine.

The thing with the EU is both France and Germany, maybe just Germany, are the bosses.

And they sell loads of stuff to us.

It's a bit too late to leave now they have picked the carcass of our manufacturing industry clean and the rest has half of their capacity based in Europe after this many years it would cause too much upheaval to leave although I do wonder if we might benefit from refocusing on non European trade

We are in this mess because of the corruption of British unions! They had the power of the country in the palm of their hands - they could have stopped jobs going abroad - they could have done anything because they had over 13/14 million members who believed in them, with the exception of one or two & I do mean one or two..............THEY SOLD OUT.

The Gov do what they wish and with no one to ORGANISE,ORGANISE,ORGANISE...........the country has gone down the toilet. Without something really radical happening - I do not see it changing.

Practically everything has gone abroad in terms of value...........Jobs/manufacturing..Utilities..we are owned and stocked by foreign bureaucracy. To turn the clock back (if that is possible) then the first step is OUT..........if only to take back our own law making process, and to stop Brussels telling us what we HAVE to do.

The Unions sold out correct led by Kinnock Len Murray Vic Feather and over slime at the time of the miners strike a general strike would have killed off the Vermin Tory's for ever but they bottled it!!And consequently prevented our manufacturing, utilities, being exported the Labour leadership at that time was gutless they bottled it the movement could have been stimulated into action and we would all have been much better off NOW!!

With most of our utilities owned by Europeans I dont think leaving is an option, something radical indeed is required I have put my view and respect yours John.

I suspect that at the next General election all Political Party's will promise a referendum on the EU and after the debate and vote we will stay in.

Calling a coal miners (with no mandate to do so) with record coal stocks and in a MARCH (just as SUMMER started) indicates how Non compos mentis the NUM "leaders" were... but they didnt go without pay did they?....

WE ARE WITH YOU BROTHERS - but you go first....

at least the "upper class twits" (as Trots calls them) in the trenches in WW1 went over the top with the men, not like NUM leaders who were happy to draw wages (from union members subs) whilst the "rank and file" got nothing for almost a whole year

No planning went into the 84/85 strike, they should have worked to rule 83/84. waited to the winter hit but also getting 1 majority vote nationwide wouldnt have hurt

Surely the majority VOTED with their FEET ie walked out definitely the best type of VOTE in my experience.

We can swap insults and dig up old wounds forever wanna but i am more interested where we go now, and it appears the EU issue is going to be of considerable importance, for sure there will be a massive campaign from both sides PRO AND ANTI which will split BOTH main party's [ I dont see the Lib Dems being taken seriously] UKIP of course are predicted to take 45 seats from the Tory's, dont think they will but their getting much publicity and could harm the Tory's more than Lab I think .

The next couple of years will be very interesting politically Europe and Austerity, plenty to suffer and think about and no doubt to RUCK ABOUT :D :D :D

i DONT LIKE HAVING THE RAILWAYS WATER GAS ELECTRICTY MINES CAR MANUFACTURING ETC BEING CONTROLLED FROM OUTSIDE AND THE PROFITS GOING ABROARD TIME TO STOP IT ??????????????????????????????????? :D :D
