I believe that what he does is a good thing providing he follows the rules that have been laid down by the police, that he doesn't reveal identities until he is absolutely certain he is right, doesn't entrap anybody or lead them on and doesn't do what some other groups are doing. He is no angel and he's far from perfect he has also got it wrong on occasion. This link explains the dangers of what he does and includes the actions of other groups that also do this kind of thing

I understand what you're saying, but, not all people are that bright and in one case if you read it the guy says he wasn't told until he was a the meeting place that the person he was meeting was under age and if this is true his life is ruined for something he didn't do. All I am saying is they have to be 100% certain that the person they are meeting fully understands before they meet that the person they are meeting is under age. It's not a big ask really is it. Stinson has had advice from the police about what he can and can't do and seems to have listened but he is not alone in this activity.

that's true, but what if the guy on the end of the keyboard says they are a 18 years old girl and agrees to meet you in a public place like costa coffee - then a few minutes before the meet send you a text saying they are 15 years old - and a few blokes with cameras come along calling to a child molester (in costa coffee) and puts your face and personal details all over the internet? like what was alleged??

Yeah and there are two sides to every story and you would hope that these guys are getting it right but if they have it wrong, then they are the ones who should be prosecuted and to the full extent of the law.

Yeah I agree and lock them up if they ruin someone’s life by getting it wrong. Quite honestly, if you don't go down the road of chatting to what might be an underage child you has got feck all to worry about.

No evidence of sexual offences doesn't mean that it never happened only that it couldn't be proven.
