I actually agree with much of Jasbar's post, but I don't hear him saying we should charge in gung ho fashion, killing as many Muslims as we can.

Perhaps he realises that an awful lot of the mess that is The Middle East today, has been caused by Western interference in the past. Why should anyone believe that more of the same will work this time, when it has failed so miserably before?

I'm sure he will let us know.

If you ask Jasbar what we should do with the ISIS problem, I think you will find he agrees with me?

Sorry Skull - but what the west have done in the middle east hasn't helped anyone or anything.

Do you seriously think anykind of intervention now will actually make things better?

Last year the House of Commons voted on bombing Syria - 12 months later they're all but allies.

We invaded Afghanistan to stop Al Quaeda - yet if you are to believe reports there are sections of that group - a group that bombed the world trade centres - that we are trying to make allies.

I don't know what the answer is - maybe Jasbar is correct - maybe those countries need a dictator - maybe he is wrong - as I just said I don't know the answer.

But I do know putting arms in, putting planes in and putting troops in - doesn't hasn't worked and continues not to work.

I know all that and I agree. However, the problem we have now is an Islamic force which totally rejects western society, democracy, secularism, human rights and freedom. Even Islamic countries with western style governments are [edited by admin] themselves from ISIS because of what it might mean with the religious extremist in their own countries.

The west has let the genie out of the bottle, no doubt about it but what do we do now?

And as I said before and if you do your research, ISIS want ISLAM and only ISLAM to rule the world.

If they really are a threat to the whole world, shouldn't the whole world be stopping them? Not the same suspects who caused this mess in the first place? The same people who will no doubt profit from any action taken.

What needs to stop is the whole game, not just the bits you find scary.

Now there's a man who does get it. =D> =D> =D> =D> =D>

What has the above got to do with ISIS and what they are fighting for now? Yes, we created the problem but now that problem wants to kill everything the west stands for including you and me.

So tell me what I don't get?

If you look at most of our Allies in the middle east - they aren't particular fans of western society, democracy, secularism, human rights and freedom.

Which Arab country has western style government - in actual fact it could be argued that trying to bring western style democracy to the middle east has created the catalyst for ISIS.

I agree.

Oh and Turkey for one has a western style government and Egypt to a degree had an election but the secular government wanted none of it, then the Army took over from the Muslim Brotherhood.

The Arab Spring remember that, the facebook and twitter revolution?

And what about all the countries with Muslim populations that actually take part in democratic elections?

This is exactly what ISIS is fighting against and killing Muslims that embrace any kind of western systems of government. :-|

I remember the Arab spring - that led to the Syrian Civil War, it led to Libya being more dangerous and made Egypt unstable.

They aren't democratic in the way the West's elections are democratic though are they - Turkey, our allies, bomb the cr*p out of Kurds everyday - its just the western press turn a blind eye to it.

We're the Muslim brotherhood elected in Egypt - but that was unacceptable to the west?

I know all about Oil and the West's interests in the Middle East and what they are trying to protect.

Okay CC, you tell me exactly what ISIS are fighting against and what they are trying to achieve?

Oh and let's be quite clear, yes, ISIS want the oil but what is their purpose in capturing oil wells?

And you think I don't know this? :? I agree with nearly everything you are saying but we are where we are and now we have ISIS who are a whole different ballgame and they are killing everyone that gets in their way to an Islamic theocratic state. :-|
