[Where does this so called secret society operate then? If you are refering to the Uk Taxi discussion list then I can assure you that it is not a secret society, you can even join if you fit the criteria. There seems to be more of a secret society operating on this forum.

Clearly my description was a slight caricature, but I once did try to join and got fed up in the end!

I'm also aware that there have been numerous 'incidents' concerning the leaking of information from your list, so clearly there is an element of secrecy involved - we prefer our discussions to be more open.

Incidentally, I think you should point out to your members that in such an environment it's incredibly naive to expect things to remain secret - I've even heard that threats have been made to involve the police (no doubt they sent a SWOT team out to deal with it  ) - you 'ave to larff!!

I keep private things to email!

With respect Jamie, you don't know anything about where we work, who we have to deal with, and what we've experienced in the past.

Those who carp on about anonymity always give the impression that they have a bit of the bully about them, would I be right?

That's because they never really seem to have a good reason to know who the anonymous person is, they just seem to want to know the identity for presumably malicious reasons.

I have no interest in anyone's identity unless they want to provide it, since I know the score.

[For your second comment, well I thought that I would look in to see if there was actually any real worthwhile discussion going on in here as I thought by now that the site may have grown up and weeded out all the W*****S, but it seems as though nothing changes.

Would you care to say who the 'w*****rs' are Jamie?

As for there being nothing worthwhile on here, I would say it's much like all the others forums I've been on.

But I've never been on your forum, so perhaps you could give us an indication of what kind of things you're discussing on there, and why it's more worthwhile?

Yes, readers see the warts an all on here, but we tried to make the forum as open and unmoderated as possible to promote free speech, but clearly that often has its downsides.

I think Captain you will find that that Sussex and TDO have a slight history of not getting on too well with Jamie and some of his members on the London/ex-Yahoo discussion list.

As was posted on here before, Alan who started an earlier site similar to this, joined the London site. But once they found out that he drove a licensed PH, they asked him to leave.

To be honest I didn't realise it was still going until this thread started, which perhaps says it all.

No No Alex that is not true,
The site always knew he was a private hire driver, and Alan was allowed on for fraternal friendship, anyway Alan then stated he could solve all Londons problems.

well all this from a tout!

then it got rude, then insulting and well Alan went over the top.

and then yes he was told to [edited by admin] off

Faltering forces of infidels cannot just enter taxi driver online and lay besiege to them! They are the ones who will find themselves under siege. Therefore, in reality whatever this miserable jambo has been saying, he was talking about his own forces. Now even the Jambo command is under siege.

Err, the post that you replied to was in reply to the post above it, which wasn't yours...the remark about the London guys was just a little joke directed towards the post I was replying to...not you Jamie...I have no knowledge of what the 'London Guys' think.

So since your post was based on an erroneous assumption, can we safely ignore it?

Sorry if I misread your posting.

As I stated to Sussex, it is your perogative to keep your identity anonymous, and that is also the right of every person on this and sites like this, there is nothing malicious in what I posted and I hope that it wasnt taken as such, I would not waste the energy making threats on a forum such as this or any other, and to imply that i have a bit of a bully boy attitude is way of the mark, that said I will not stand any c**p.
My personal view is that it is much friendlier knowing who you are chatting to, I have made some good friends over the internet, but this is only possible if you know who you are talking with.

TDO

I have never stated that the UK Taxi Discussion group is any better than any other group or forum, nor do I consider it to be my forum, I just look after the forum that was originally started by Vince.

This are just as many of topic postings the discussion group as there are on any other forum, but one thing I will say is that we have no where near the amount of personally directed remarks as there seems to be on here.

Dear Captain

I have not just joined this site and I have just not posted for a while, well we can all talk bollocks cant we! or so the public seem to think, it's part of the criteria for getting a license, is it not?
