Well one of the lads asked where he could get a WAV Mondeo.

Still Nigel had a purple TX once by all accounts, but then he changed to a Mondeo.

Nice to be able to change isn't it Nigel? :?

Shame you don't want the London lads to have the same opportunity. [-X

There are mixed views from those within the London trade as to whether the introduction of the alternative vehicles as they have been dubbed being introduced into London. Obviously we all want to have a choice and if we get a choice the price of a new TX2 may be reduced to reflect the competition, but there are also those who think that it will be the worst thing that could happen to London, obviously the resale price of the purpose built taxis will plummet and some fear that there will be no distinction between the Hackney and Private Hire trades, I know that intergration is something that you would like to see, but not all share your view, and that is another debate. Obviously the true effect of allowing the alternatives vehicles into London will not be know for some time, that is if they are ever allowed into London.

There has still yet to be an anouncement from the Public Carriage Office as to whether they will aloow the alternatives to be licensed in London, the decision is now long overdue and the uncertainty is not doing the trade any good at all. A decision needs to be made sooner rather than later.

My own personal views are mixed, yes I would like to see a choice, but at what cost would that choice be? It seems to have no affect on other areas as to what type of vehicle is licensed as a Hackney Carriage so the theory must go that it will not have a adverse affect in London, but we shall have to wait and see.

I've disagreed with him on a lot of things, but we just debate the issues, we don't throw abuse at each other.

GBC is quite good in this regard as well, as are a few others.

How time changes things ever so slightly.

It may be boring without Nidge, but since he left this site has gained 150 members, in excess of 10,000 posts, and several million hits.

So someone somewhere must be doing something right.

I'm sure I don't know what you mean GBC

However, it should be recalled that CC was never banned, he left.

At about the same time as his Damascene conversion to the cause of restricted taxi numbers.

A cynic might suggest that there's a link there :-k

Well perhaps your 5 year old wouldn't resurrect a topic that's been dead for nearly two weeks. :^o :^o
