 If i had just got my badge id be eager to get on the road lol! why doesn't he just go for what other drivers buy lol.

unfortunatly am still at the knowledge test stage

This is the point, he has spent out, done the hard bit and now has 11 months left on his badge

Me, meanwhile, has just restarted working through a base, im one of those awful drivers who have a scant knowledge and is running at 25% knowing, 25% tomtom 25% mercury and the rest ask the punter...lol

not even sure what the base wants by way of rent

He should have bought the vehicle only on condition it passed the taxi test before parting with his cash, so as to avoid any surprises. #-o

A taxi test is a wee bit stricter than your average MOT. :-|

ahh, now then....

not exactly (according to our tester)

I asked if its possible to pass the MOT (if done at the same time) but fail the compliance (or vice versa) he said yes, no, maybe

BUT, seeing as they only did the ONE test, and its done while logged into the VOSA database/slot, wheres the taxi test?

I'm not sure what you are saying here, if all you need is a VOSA/MOT test, then there is no taxi test. A taxi test must operate with a different set of criteria to that of an MOT or a Taxi test is just straight-forward duplication of the VOSA process. :-|

For instance, what if Jman316 runs his car in for test, and they say, "get the car re-sprayed the paint work is not up to the required standard?"

Hardly the same as an MOT, now is it? :-|

well colour aside (cos here PH cant be white, hacks are white, LTI can be any colour) as they wouldnt get test papers to PH test a white saloon, the tester said the PH/HC test just included kiddie locks, fire extinguisher and first aid kit, they passed mine even though id left the last 2 items at home
