I think Captain you will find that that Sussex and TDO have a slight history of not getting on too well with Jamie and some of his members on the London/ex-Yahoo discussion list.

As was posted on here before, Alan who started an earlier site similar to this, joined the London site. But once they found out that he drove a licensed PH, they asked him to leave.

To be honest I didn't realise it was still going until this thread started, which perhaps says it all.

Can I put the record straight, Alan Foster was never asked to leave the discussion group, Alan unsubscribed of his own accord, I have spoken to Alan on a couple of occasions since and we are still quite amicable.
I was also under the impression that Alan had help both Private hire and Hackney licenses, not that it really matters.

The group was orignally set up by Vince chin for the UK licensed Hackney Trade, the original members hailed from London, the group was restricted to Licensed Hackney drivers due to the problems in London regarding the unlicensed minicab trade and gave a forum for discussion regarding this subject.

The same rules are still in place today, I do not consider that I own the group, I just look after it, If I were to give it up tomorrow then someone else would just step into my shoes and take over.

No licensed hackney carriage driver has ever been refused entry to the group and never will be refused entry.

If the demand was there I would set up a joint group so that there could be cross discussion and would welcome people like TDO and Sussex as I think that in such a group all views and opinions would be of interest.

I am not the type of person who ignores someone just because they are a private hire driver, I talk to all people whether Taxi drivers or Private hire drivers, I take a person on their own merits and not their occupation.

The type of work that I do brings me into contact with a lot of private hire drivers and I have learnt a lot by talking and listening to them, I aslo find it interesting the way in which different people run their business.

Well enough of my ranting.

By God, I think this is rather very unlikely. This is merely a prattle. The fact is that as soon as you reach TDO gates, we will besiege you and slaughter you....Wherever you go you will find yourself encircled.

Please, please! Jambo is relying on what I called yesterday a desperate and stupid method

Again we see the double standards.

Someone posts under their username and the administration replies using a persons real name.

Surely if anonimity were being respected only the username would be used.

"we know who you are but your not allowed to know who we are" seems to be the motto of this sites administration.

well all this from a tout!

Oh dear Mr Yorkie, are you trying to act the hard man in front of Jamie? :?

I'm sure he will be pleased that you have transferred some of the nonsense from the other site into here. Alas it makes you look a bigger pillock than usual.

Still on the subject of touting, I believe that includes cabs ranking up where no rank exists. Sort of stuff that you always recommend. [-X

Still isn't ignorance a good thing.

This are just as many of topic postings the discussion group as there are on any other forum, but one thing I will say is that we have no where near the amount of personally directed remarks as there seems to be on here.

Really, then why did the Archbishop leave? :?

Why did the chap that writes the leader in Taxi Times leave? :?

Why did the chap that helps out with the Yellow badge lads leave? :?

Why did my friend ( :-# ) Radioman leave? :?

I'm not saying who was right and wrong, but paradise it is not.

Didn't you bother reading any of his posts?

He said, inter alia:

At least you know where my manor is and who I am, pity we cant same the same about you and your manor.

I don't think ***** has ever tried to cover up his identity, and his username is just that.

If he had objected to the use of his real name then presumably he would have said, instead we have you doing it for him, but presumably not at his behest.

The trouble with you and others is that you've posted under so many different names which are obviously the same person (and usually you don't bother even trying to hide the fact that it's you) and sometimes you want to keep your ID secret, and at other times it doesn't bother you.

So can't you understand why we are confused?

As regards your present ID, I noticed that others used your real name, and you never objected, so I used it as well, since it makes it more obvious who the reply is directed to, and makes it seem a bit more civil as well.

If anyone wants their ID protected then I'm the first to abide by this, the problem with you is that you don't know what you want, so you shouldn't expect others to either.

Isn't it YOU that's displaying the double standards? When you thought the knew the identity of Captain Cab it didn't take you long to be singing it from the rooftops.

Same with Nidge, when he THOUGHT he knew the identity of a poster he was like the playground drug dealer who had found out the identity of the person who had 'grassed to teacher'.

But if Nidge is deluding himself in his state of blissful ignorance then who are we to object

Typical union bully boy double standards from you two methinks

OMG you mean people dont think I'm really;

Captain "Howlin' Mad" Murdock - The even-more-mentally-imbalanced-than-the-others pilot seemed to be proud of his "condition".

Captain H.M. "Howlin' Mad" Murdock

The craziest member of the A-Team resided in a military mental hospital for most of his time and it wasn't hard to see why. Running through different personalities like a hot knife through butter, and talking randomly to objects and things that did not exist. B.A. had a particular problem with this "crazy fool".

However, despite his umm.. inconsistencies, Murdock was a top class pilot. He'd fly anything and fly it well - if a crash was iminent he was the man to get the 'plane down safely. Despite his mental state (and was he really crazy?), he was an irreplacable member of the Team.

no of course it does not mean that at all.

as for the rest of your post Sussex, its a load of Bollox.

but you are entitled to that now and again.

I for one dont blame you for wanting to be a proper taxi driver and dont think you should pay through the nose for it.

but I get shouts from Gateshead over it

If it weren't for people logging on your hits would be well down, besides it stops you from replying to your own posts

I very much doubt those behind TDO really give a f*** about the number of hits.

As for replying to my own posts, well you are the last person to preach about that. [-X
