Thanks to the captain for the good wishes.expect to pass Carlisle at about 10000ft and 300mph dropping in might prove difficult.

The last thing to pass Carlisle at 10,000 ft was on its way to Glasgow, flown by a person called Hans, and accidentally dropped a payload on nearby Maryport causing £25's worth of damage.

Our posts seem to have crossed, hence the non reply.

A little word of advice, when you arrive in Scotland, try to avoid saying 'Och aye tha noo' and calling the natives 'Jocks' and the country 'Jockland' for that matter. They dont really like it too much. Its okay for them to say it, but a 'no no' to anybody else.

I spent a week in Scotland last month, so I think I'll give it a miss this time, although I am only 10 miles away and will doubtless be up there in my cab during the course of the next few weeks.

I'm not sure JD, but yer man TF's got a radical solution for all you PH people out there;

Terence Flanagan of the GMB Professional Drivers’ Branch said that his members working as private hire drivers were working up to 80 hours a week, often for 21 days without a break and for as little as £4.85 an hour. To tackle this endemic problem there needs to be a custodial sentence for proprietors of private hire companies

I reckon GBC and him have more in common than we all think

Captain Cab

Indeed, my £4.85 an hour hardly feeds the family nowadays, as for the hours. I'm hoping to get that down to 70 from next year.

I'm all for beheading the Minicab bosses though, Geoff Kaley would be a good start.

Well I have no ambition to get embroiled in the personal battle that's raging between GBC and GMBU

I'm currently on top though.

It would suprise you all to know at the tender age of 17 (bless) I was a member of the GMB.

At the time they were fighting the privatisation of Rosyth Dockyard (which went ahead regardless) I always remember the 'meetings' when we were told time and time again that a future Labour government would reverse all this and bring the yard's strength back up to 10'000 plus. \:D/

24 years later, under their favourite party the workforce stands at under 2000. :-$

Another vision destroyed.

I would'nt mention Mr Connoly the Irish freedom fighters to readily either.

That, accompanied with a London accent would'nt go down well with 60% of the population.

You may find a smack in the teeth offends.

I would'nt take much notice of 'Brother' Terry Ross.

He's stuck in a time warp somewhere between 1970 and 1980 when unions had some clout and the Government listened to them?

Now they try shock tacticts, like pretending to practise sectariasm.

When the next Tory government gets elected they'll be gone.

I wondered what they'd been upto since the ceasefire, now I know, they've joined the GMB.

I reckon the 'OUR DAY WILL COME' could be targeted at a whole new audience if changed to 'CHRISTMAS WILL COME'. At least if christmas is mentioned the children will love it and at least one day per year you'll be right
