try this... my is ~£1200 with 5 yrs NCB but there is about £150 extra for keys, brakedown, 3pts. , EU licence etc... insurer - Aviva.

I rang them and went through the whole thing...waiting for a callback now. One sales guy told me he had a great quote for me so will call back at 1!

They work long hours, not what I would call acceptable but there are no controls for the hours worked.

Have you tried cabshield.co.uk yet ? They were the cheapest for me on a new policy with 0 NCD (they give you a years free NCD on new policies). The website says under construction but the phone numbers there.

I have had a quote last Friday for my insurance at £1050 per car. Any driver from 25 to 70 years old but they must have held their taxi badge for at least a year. So it looks like I won't be getting any new drivers now.

trouble then... best thing you can do is having your badge for a yr driving for someone (company) as i did and then looking for own car and insurance. my first own was ~£2000, 5 ysr ago. must be something wrong with you. last shot, try aviva, swinton or westminster directly.
