So back to the original thread, how is the smoking ban affecting you?

Indeed they would. Imagine having a Taxi with both rear door handles attached.

Weather has been good so the smoking ban has had no effect.
Be interesting to see what happens in the cold and rain.

today we was issued with portable pocket ashtrays from the Council, one of these http://tinyurl.com/you27u

it has been made known the Smoking police enforcement officers [hey we have 3 of them now] are doing their rounds again purging York taxi drivers on Monday coming, as the tip off goes, this time they mean business

just heard one driver was pulled for not having a no smoking sticker on his dash, the fine is 180 quid for not displaying, but he got a warning, i am not sure if he had to go to the Council to show he had complied by sticking one on his dash

so their hammering taxi drivers again, bet they don't come out on a saturday night and check the queues of pee heads stood on the rank at kicking out time for smoking [tab end offences]

i wonder when the Smoke Police are going to go round the plumbers, builders vans etc, or are we easy targets

Its the same old story Pete,
They fine a woman who's toddler dropped litter, but they are not around to pick on a drunk who has chucked the contents of his takeaway on the ground.I would love to see these hitlers working at 3am on a sunday morning!!!!!!!!!

I thought the law was that you had to display at least 1 sticker in each passenger compartment. I never saw anything that stated where abouts in that compartment. The back of the tax disc is one place that is recomended.
