Post subject:  Whats your fares over the festive period?

A lot of private hire companies are keeping their fares normal over christmas & New year in the Birmingham area is this the same all over the country??

speaking to someone in a care/rest home and they mentioned i was a PH driver to the owner, he said another resident had asked a taxi (said taxi, coulda been PH) firm for a quote for christmas day to visit relatives 6 miles away and was quoted ..........£200

i want a bit more for the christsmas/new years days and bank holidays but i think thats fair, most PAYE employees are on trebled time or more

I charge my normal PH rates on Xmas day...anything Extra hopefully comes in the form of a gratuity..

arent PH/HC entitled to the same extra/bonuses that the rest of a workforce get for working Christmas day/new years, and any bank holiday?

Xmas and Boxing day meter and a half.

Midnight Christmas Eve to 0600 Boxing Day - Meter x 2

There are a few extra hours of meter + half after 1800 Christmas Eve, throughout Boxing Day and sometime around New Year, I believe.

+50% on distance fare, 10pm xmas eve to 6am on 27th.
Same 10pm on 31st December to 6am on 3rd January.

same again at the new year
6 PM on the 31st to 6 am on the 3rd.

Of course we are but that doesn't mean it'll happen. Joe Public doesn't like paying double he only likes being paid double or whatever they get nowadays........
