my crb check is due for renewing. My LA has set a price of £70 ,is this a fair price to charge from a LA. How much do other LA,s charge . This check is done every 3 years and i wonder if LA,s do a similar check on their own employees at this charge and this often. |

I just paid £36.00 for an Enhanced CRB check. I use it for both jobs. I don't think it is right that the LA should be making extra money off it you should have a word with them |

Both jobs? You need a CRB per job (be it paid or voluntary). My CRB check does cover my voluntary work or vis versa. It's not unusual for one person to have 4 CRB checks (Teacher,Scout leader,Church warden and First Aider, for example). |

This check is done every 3 years and i wonder if LA,s do a similar check on their own employees at this charge and this often. The average national price is £36, who is your council??? Get your councilor on the case Get in touch with your council ombudsman he will investigate and hopefully inform the council to reduce the fee |

Why is your council charging such a premium on top of the £36 CRB fee?
I know stamps have gone up, but to £34.

Just got my CRB through for one job and the LA say that's ok for my licence so long as it's enhanced which it is because my other job is taxi related. I think if the CRB check is older than 3 months when another is required for another position then you have get a new CRB check. I think the only reason I got away with not having to apply for another one is because the new one has just come through and my taxi CRB is due so they have agreed to accept the one I have. |
