Reward your shining knight

NOMINATE your knight of the road – and help them win tickets to the Tyne-Wear derby match.

Company boss Steven Ward wants to reward Sunderland's best taxi driver, who goes out of their way to help customers.

Steven's business, Profound Services, is sponsoring the match ball when Sunderland take on Newcastle at St James's Park on February 1.

And he is looking for the Wearside taxi driver who goes the extra mile to provide the best customer service with two VIP tickets to the game to give away – and hopefully watch Kieran Richardson repeat his match winning free kick exploits.

Dining in the Bamburgh Suite, the lucky winner and guest will enjoy a three-course buffet, live entertainment and executive seats in the Milburn Stand.

And the passenger who nominates the winner will also have a night out, with dinner for two with a bottle of house wine at Tavistock Italia at the Best Western Tavistock Roker Hotel.

Steven said: "Taxi drivers are a crucial part of any region's economy – often the first point of contact for tourists – as such we are striving to offer packages tailored to their needs. These can be stand alone or as part of an NVQ.

"The packages include training on local knowledge, disability awareness, customer service, health and safety and first aid.

"But we also offer support to the taxi company owners to ensure they have the right policies and procedures in place."

Profound Services will be celebrating the start of its third year in business by implementing huge expansion plans to deliver its services nationally.

The company is set to open its second and third offices in Yorkshire and the East Midlands, before a national roll-out across the UK.

Profound offers a recruitment service for permanent jobs across a variety of sectors, including hotel and leisure, management positions and transport opportunities, which has included the recruitment of East European taxi drivers.

However, it is the training side of the business which has put the firm in the fast lane to becoming a nationally recognised organisation.

Working alongside Go Skills (Sector skills Council for Passenger Transport) one of Profound's specialisms is delivering training to the transport industry – and it is the company's bespoke taxi driver training packages which have been in huge demand across the North East and which will also be on offer in the Yorkshire area.

For more information about Profound Services, or to inquire about the assessor vacancies, ring 587 8161 or visit www.profoundservices.com.

Have you enjoyed exceptional customer service from your taxi driver? write to Kevin Clark, Echo House, Pennywell, Sunderland SR4 9ER or email Kevin.Clark@northeast-press.co.uk. Entries must be received by Friday, January 16.
