In reverse order, the majority do, why pay £50k in rent for 5 years when you can own your own after that rent free for many more years, even taking into account running costs. The Knowledge? Well it is'nt rocket science, its thousands of street names areas and restrictions plus and a few thousands buildings that sit on them. Its showing you're commited more than anything, plus you'll need a good memory and temprement which is tested by way of appearances in front of an examiner. Thinking of doing it Mr T?

Sheds start from around £160 'on the flat' (24/7) A decent TX2 (53 onwards) will set you back around the £200 mark. Brand new ones are around £230 a week. |

Quote: In reverse order, the majority do, why pay £50k in rent for 5 years when you can own your own after that rent free for many more years, even taking into account running costs. I have dealt with garages in London off and on for the last 20 years, I know that vehicles are rented to drivers and that they have a place in the big picture, vehicles off the road, accidents. and the fact that some drivers prefer to rent. even if it is only to allow them to save up to buy their own.Quote: The Knowledge? Well it is'nt rocket science, its thousands of street names areas and restrictions plus and a few thousands buildings that sit on them. So do you think it is slightly harder than say having to learn 80 routes and 60 general knowledge questions about Liverpool.... and are you not appraised as to how you deal with the general publicQuote: Its showing you're commited more than anything, plus you'll need a good memory and temprement which is tested by way of appearances in front of an examiner. Commitment totally agree.... whether that commitment is in time or money it still commitment.... live there... no thanks........ nice place.... to many foreigners.
I see the rental charges are similar to here... but the big difference is that you do a lot less miles...... I bet you didn't know you new so many taxi barons. London is a nice place to visit..... that's it.. two many foreigners ....

320.00 in Liverpool. A small difference of 120.00. Was the initial question by Mr T designed to prove the point that vehicle rental in restricted areas are higher than they are in unrestricted areas, or is it the other way around? http://www.buysell.co.uk/business-finan ... ab--plate/. The difference in rental costs were highlighted in one of the restricted quota list updates over three years back. Regards JD |

JD. firstly I said where I am... which is Sefton.... I know many Liverpool drivers paying £240 a week longer collar..... the initial question is to show that there has to be a balance |

It is a good point but I think it will greatly assist Gusmac in his argument that vehicle rental in many restricted areas have an added element of cost simply because of quantity controls. That might not be the case in Sefton and possibly some other areas but I think if we all are all true to ourselves then most will probably agree that in many cases there is an added cost to vehicle rental in many areas simply because of the restriction factor. Regards JD Because they know the owner would simply bin any driver who wasn't prepared to pay their asking price. There are always others who will. Restricted plate supply and abundance of drivers gives the plate owners the advantage. I'm sure you knew that already. |
