Britain's most powerful police body is being run as a private business with an annual income of around £18million. The Association of Chief Police Officers (ACPO), which oversees everything from anti-terrorism policy to speed cameras, was last night facing demands that it be disbanded, following a Mail on Sunday investigation into its activities which include: * Selling information from the Police National Computer for up to £70 – even though it pays just 60 pence to access those details. * Marketing ‘police approval’ logos to firms selling anti-theft devices. * Operating a separate private firm offering training to speed camera operators, which is run by a senior officer who was banned from driving. Ken Jones, President of ACPO The boss: Ken Jones, President of ACPO, has £140,000 a year plus a police pension * Advising the Government and police forces – earning £32million of taxpayers’ money in the process. * Employing retired senior officers on lucrative salaries. |

why didnt my careers officer tell me about the good jobs when i was leaving school? http://www.newsoftheworld.co.uk/news/17 ... nsion.html LIVE rent free in Downing Street and claim thousands of pounds for the £1.2million Edinburgh family home; NAME a pokey room in a basic London flat — worth only around £150-a-week — as his ‘main home’; DO the same on another address, again renting only a room and listing it as his ‘main home’; THEN CLAIM THOUSANDS in mortgage payments, household bills and even goods by classing his family home as his ‘second’ and TOT UP £70,000 in total for his family mansion — all WITHOUT breaking any rules. |

While in China , a man is very sexually promiscuous and does not use a condom. A week after arriving back home, he wakes one morning to find his penis covered with bright green and purple spots. Horrified, he immediately goes to see a doctor. The doctor, never having seen anything like this before, orders some tests and tells the man to return in two days for the results. When the man returns the doctor says, 'I've got bad news for you, you've contracted Mongolian VD. It's very rare and almost unheard of here, we know very little about it.' 'I'm sorry, but there's no known cure. We're going to have to amputate your penis.' The man screams in horror, 'Absolutely not! I want a second opinion.' The doctor replies, 'Well, it's your choice. Go ahead, if you want but surgery is your only choice.' The next day, the man seeks out a Chinese doctor, figuring that he'll know more about the disease. The Chinese doctor examines his penis and proclaims, 'Ah, yes, Mongolian VD. Vely lare disease.' The guy says to the doctor, 'Yeah, yeah, I already know that but what can you do for me? My own doctor wants to operate and amputate my penis!' The Chinese doctor shakes his head and laughs. 'Stupid docta, always want to opelate. Make more money dat way. No need to opelate!' Oh, Thank God!' the man replies. 'Yes,' says the Chinese doctor, 'wait two weeks. Fawl off by itself!' |
