Taxi Driver Online :: View topic

Further to my earlier post http://www.taxi-driver.co.uk/phpBB2/vie ... hp?t=10931 I need to source a vehicle and was considering the 9 seater (8 passenger seats) Ford Tourneo. I had a brief look online at the Vito & VW, but think the FT has more space , a better lay out of seats and more luggage room.
Remebering that it is to be used as public service run where folk will be in and out you don't want them crammed or having to climb over each, good luggage space is also important.
I would welcome comments on what to go for The Renault looks good space wise but I am not keen to have one of them based on what I know of their cars.
The 'durability' and reliability are also important points.Rembering its mainly a rural route and some of the roads can be bad. You can a have wide range of punter some with plenty of luggage.
Did I remeber driver comfort?

for a PSV (type) hop on/hop off service go bigger like this but with seats removed people who arent in a group dont like being up close and personal like in a smaller vehicle id remove the front passenger seat and the very rear most seats down to a max of 8 in the back http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/FORD-TRANSIT-350- ... 240%3A1318

my tourneo is great for groups of mates or a family who are happy to sit together, with luggage in the rear, but a hop on/off shopper service would need different

Did I remeber driver comfort? the rear row access is via a tipping seat unless you turn the middle row rouns (costs about £250 to be done and requires a VOSA inspection...)
