Just getting ready to go out to earn a crust when the Tyne Tees news came on, live about 50 miles away from the area but still get reception

I thought wot sh*t now, we get over one load of crap then up pops another

The news item told of NE cabbies being told by their LO that they must complete an advanced driving test, failure will mean loss of hack licence, the matter goes to the high court, if the LO win and there are other LO's watching the case to which will mean we all may have to do the advance driving test

does anyone know more details who live in that area

now calm down the council wont win.

no judge will decide that taxi drivers who now have licenses will not be included.

the council are stupid and like ours dont realise that there are different rules to renewing a license and applying for a license.

on the councils part this is a crass waste of ratepayers money.

I think the council involved is Darlington, and the council are as thick as pig [edited by admin].

Instead of trying to introduce DSA tests just to new drivers, and to existing ones that pile up the points, they thought it would be a good idea to make the existing trade do the DSA tests as well.

It would appear that all of a sudden hundreds of taxi drivers in Darlington have become not 'fit and proper'.
