That is absolutely disgusting............that Plod should be Jailed for life and the other Plods sacked for not helping the poor guy. It really makes me ashamed of the police...police brutality on a poor innocent victim..who's side are they really on in this Nulab Fascist state of ours... |

Easy to critisise if you take 'The Guardians' leftie views, but then we were not there with folks throwing missiles at us or hitting us with scaffolding poles, nor did we see what happened on the video clip before it was edited and sent to them. Why would he choose to wander along with two Police dogs up his arse? There's always many views of a situation, I would'nt expect much less (or left) from the Guardian. Personaly I'd favour using live ammo on anyone who threw a brick towards me, the French should run the Police. |

In all fairness, if that's a word one can use, once the chap had a heart attack a number of police officers tried in vain to save his life. According to reports this chap was on his way home from work and had nothing to do with the demonstrations.

Regardless as to why he was there ...there was no need for Plod Bully boy tactics, no one was throwing anything at those particular policemen and if anything that poor guy had a " just out the Pub" look about him and seemed to pose no threat to anybody but himself...poor bugger.. |

Because this is still a free country, and he was walking away with his hands in his pockets. How much of a threat is that to anyone?

The police involved would have realised that their goose was well and truly cooked so its no wonder they tried to revive him later.. |

All the press is covering this, including the right wing versions. Your point re coin/brick throwing is flawed, as if someone was throwing coins/bricks at me I wouldn't go up to someone who had nothing to do with it, then hit him with a baton, then push him over. I would arrest the guilty, not help kill the innocent.

Because for the previous 20 minutes before the 'Guardian reader' decided to send his clip into the paper and not the PCA, the guy had been asked 8 times (at least) to move on, but he refused dragging his heels and telling them to fook off. He had then been pushed back down towards Threadneedle Street again being asked a further 7 times to move on to which he had again told the Police to fook off. He had then told three officers he was going to find out who they were and where they lived and take the virginity of their 6 year old daughters, before spitting at them claiming he was HIV positive, before taking a swing at them and it true demo style retreating back before getting braver. The Police again moved forward at the rear of the Royal Exchange . . . and then the Guardian Reader on the protesters side of the line started filming. Easy when you take the view of sensationalist press reporting. It must be tranquil up in the Borders and down on the South Coast where the biggest fracas is two pensioners fighting over a place in the Post Office queue, or the Mods from 30 years ago. |

If the police cant take it they shouldnt be doing the job...as it is these same Plods will probably leave the force due to some Imagined Traumatic stress disorder and get huge public payouts to ease their departure...and on top of that they'll get a whopping great pension for life. All the poor Victim will get is a few days In A morgue with a Tie on label strapped to his big toe and a family left behind that will have no more than memories of the day the police killied him....all for the sake of an allegation of him throwing a few coins or F words at the police....And he probably didnt even do that..unless you seen it all GBC?? |

If being tranquil means a policeman doesn't contribute to ones death, then thank f*** for that. Everyone has to be accountable for their actions, even the police. |

You're clearly a Leftie who hates the Police, so there's no point even debating the view you will always take, just like TF the left will always be king, even though it's a shrinking minority. You were not there, none of us were, if you choose to believe what Newspapers tell you . . . there's not a lot anyone can say really. I can't believe the Borders are that cut off from the rest of society even in 2009. Did you know Freddie Star ate a Hampster once upon a time . . . |

Everyone does, but on the facts of the case and in front of ones peers, not some hard up scribes viewpoint. Especially one who works for the anti-authoritarian Guardian. |
