You have to wonder how much all these taxi/buses are costing, and whether it would be better if they gave the customers taxi/PH vouchers instead. Then the money would stay local, and not go to the large bus companies. Alex |

Then the money would stay local, and not go to the large bus companies. Alex The funding is by way of the Rural bus Challenge scheme which can run into hundreds of thousands of pounds. It doesn't mean that such large sums have been invested in this venture but I suspsect the funding is substantial. Best wishes |

I dont think people like you with simple forsight understand that the service has to be available to all the people in the area not just a few. no vouchers arnt an idea, at all as it imposes restriction. as for taxibus cost, well you own a taxi work it out, but the costings have been debated over here again and again. as administrator you should know full well. now please knock it off. |

I too have "simple forsight" but Alex's suggestion of vouchers seems to be to the benefit of the Taxi/PH drivers, not a few individuals or the large bus companies. |

Now theres another Yorkieism. If you think putting money in your pocket will not benefit you then send it to TDO, I'm sure the boys would benefit. |

What do you do Yorkie .......... do you take bookings for your taxis ..........do the people who book you get a good prompt reliable service ............. can they get a taxi from a rank at their front door. Is this scheme not about capturing the largest sector of the market and sending those currently involved in PH to the doom of the ranks, leaving taxibus operators in a monopolising position for the prebooked work. I smell a rat. |
