The difference between having an association / trade body that will actualy protect your career, or one that talks a good job?

Perhaps I'm not typing in English?

I'm not certain how clearer to make it.

In London we have two new driver representative groups, neither of which seems to offer the protection or negotiating capabilities of the established three.

As I said, some folks talk a good job, but the excuses are never ending when it comes to delivering their goods.
