Dam I missed out in 1977, I flew from the UK to Nairobi, then took the overnight train to Mombasa ( very good meals on the train a 5 coarse with a case of tusker beer can be had for 8 shillings) arrived in Mombasa at 8 AM missed the boat (dam) so had to spend 6 weeks at the jardini beach hotel) just lazing about by the pool or on the pure white sandy beech, I don't know why but every time I put my hand up another bottle of beer arrived I don't think I stayed in my own room much either as the local women always said come back to mine??? after 6 weeks of waiting for the boat to come back I had to go back to Nairobi as the boss said i had to go and find Tarzan in the jungle ( nope never saw him) so we gave up after 4 weeks and came home.
I think I may go back there one day as i only needed £100 spending money for the whole free trip. :D

That reminds me, in the last two years Mrs Sussex has been to Somaliland twice doing good deeds work.

But sadly I have to report, both times the pirates failed.
