it now seems that York Station Taxis are going above the law against the ruling by the judge that the colour of a taxi is cosmetic, as by the Tom Browne court case and that all is required to ID a taxi is the top light

my son in law was at his relations car auto respay centre when a taxi from stn taxis came in asking that he wanted his vehicle respraying in the coulor of black, if its not black he's history and gone

a cab which was suspended for some reason from the stn rank has now got back in, but as this is now classed as a new vehicle applying for a permit, the owner has to have a radio fitted and produce his vehicle in the colour black

i have also heard rumour that the Clerk of the Race Course is not happy with the colour of the cabs using the Race Course rank, that they should also all be painted black

i am not sure who owns the race course rank, whether it be race course or council comman land

Why do the cab owners who work at the station keep on taking this up the jacksy, just get an injunction taken out to stop this dick head at the station making them change the cab colour

The knavesmire is the property of York the race course lease the land it sits on, since the rank sits on a public road, the racecourse will have no control over it.

York City Council should be more pro-active & engage the Station & clerk of the race course & tell them to do one. The very fact that two, separate individuals are dictating licensing policy on behalf of the licensing department is verging on the incredible. The York licensing department should send a polite letter & tell them to eff off.
York CC are very weak & now other interested parties are dictating licensing policy. What next Privatising taxi licensing??

Perhaps they need some guidance from Terrence Stalin and the GMB?

Quick Don, get yourself up to Kings Cross Station (Euston Rd by York Way, N1) and pop up to York.

Maybe they would like their own fleet of black vehicles on the station and that could certainly be provided by a PH company if needs be
