why is there a plastic ID photo licence when it stands for sod all and the paper version is still required EVEN though the plastic id photocard has my picture, signature and driver number on it....

I've had to renew mine at a cost of £20, you've got to renew them every 10 years because your looks change according to the DVLA.

I'm still using my GREEN licence from the 70s!!!!

I also still have my green one albeit a little bit tatty BUT if you ever have a problem with the law you will have to pay to get it replaced and you can also be fined if they decide it isn't in good enough nick you are supposed to maintain the condition of your license and replace it if neccessary or so i am told

They had no problem putting 3 points on it last year.
