 Post subject: DVLA car licences

why is there a plastic ID photo licence when it stands for sod all and the paper version is still required EVEN though the plastic id photocard has my picture, signature and driver number on it....

but its the plastic one, with photo and signature thats pointless and costs £19

I've had to renew mine at a cost of £20, you've got to renew them every 10 years because your looks change according to the DVLA. Some people are driving on expired licenses because they've not updated their photo.

No you can't if you already have one. But if like me you have never had one you can still keep using your old one.

I also still have my green one albeit a little bit tatty BUT if you ever have a problem with the law you will have to pay to get it replaced and you can also be fined if they decide it isn't in good enough nick you are supposed to maintain the condition of your license and replace it if neccessary or so i am told

Mine is held together with selotape. They had no problem putting 3 points on it last year.
