| Post subject: | How many councils have done this? |
I've just moved and thought if I was to work here I'd have to get out there and start learning the place before I applied for my badge. I was expecting a knowledge test. When I rang the licencing department I was told that they had replaced the knowledge test with a Btec
I told them that I had a VRQ in passenger transport and she said she wasn't sure that would be the same thing (it's nice to know that they are aware of what they have changed over from and to what)
Anyway when I suggested that my ability to pass a Btec/VRQ did not necessarily mean I'd be able to get a passenger from A to B on the same day they suggested I buy a satnav
Surely the Btec/VRQ should be an as well as and not an instead of option. So now all I have to do is change the address on my drivers licence and have the usual medical, CRB etc and I'm away, getting lost with passengers, hopefully they'll be too drunk to notice
Has anybody elses licencing done this? |

I think a number of councils have bundled up their entry criteria into a btec package. All the LOs will deal with is the knowledge and CRB and DSA (if applicable) bits, the rest will be done by the leeches. I wonder why you moved.

There is no knowledge in the Btec though so that seems pointless |
