HC no older than 3 on first test then after 8 years they are gone.

WAV must be brand new then 10 years.

Because in general saloon cars dont stand the test of time and abuse as well as a car "supposedly" built for the job.

Why the difference in age limits for a PH saloon compared to a Hackney saloon?

So I'll ask again why the difference between the saloon vehicles. If you look closely a PH saloon has 8 years and a HC saloon only has 5 years :?

Because decisions such as this are made by stupid councillors having been informed by stupid LOs.

So why didn't the drivers say something or their Reps cos it's definately not a fair system with regard to the saloon vehicles :?

The only logical reason is to encourage HC to put WAVs on instead of saloons.

Oh so they don't care if the PH have no WAV's. The whole thing seems weird. If a saloon car can last 8 years as PH then it should last the same time for a HC. The age limit should be set with considerations to public safety and comfort not because they want the HC to be WAV's if that's what they want they should not allow saloon vehicles to be HC's :-|
