A chap has asked this question off-line, and would be grateful for any replies. i am looking for an answer to a problem i have and wondered if someone can put me on the right track. please bare with me as im a novice on comuters. i would like to know if its right for a taxi inspector on behalf of a council put a proposal forward as well as the taxi associations for a fare increase. just hope you can help me on this one as i dont think this is normal practice. i have been a hackney driver for a number of years now and this is a new one on me. please help asap as it goes up before council a week today. thank you Alex |

anyone can put in for a fare increase in london the operators get in on the act. the tax inspector in thier guise as minimum wage enforcer has a duty to protect public funds (by that I mean payments of benefits) if the tax inspector believes that the fares levied is causing poverty he will act, in some cases by putting pressure on private hire opperators. Alex it is legal it will have been schecked out with treasury solicitors. if you want my advice you will keep your nose out of this one as it will cause you nothing but grief. ![]() |

Mr Yorkie, he said taxi inspector not tax inspector. ![]() I suspect it's more like a case of two differing trade proposals, and the council taking bits from both. ![]() |
