I sat at a set of traffic lights today, in the 2 lanes to my right were a taxi and a PH, both from different LAs, no problem with that, but the 3 vehicles had different plates, different signs and different warning/advise nots (the 2 PHV anyway) about not using un-booked vehicles no wonder joe public get confused sober, never mind once rat-faced of course all 3 of us we paying fifferent fees for plates, CRB, medicals, etc. standardisation is needed, one national PH plate, one national HC plate, or even no distinction, 1 national "Small Passenger Carrying Vehicle" (max 8 passengers) , 1 fee, 1 test, the current situation is a nightmare for us and a blessing for the non-plated brigade.... |

Quote: I think one of the problems is that we have 400+ councils adopting 400+ differing sets of rules.
For what it is worth I believe that it needs centralising, something on the lines of the DVLA. Literally do away with all local LAs and licensing Councillors which would save us all a load of money. The existing LA officers minus redundancies would be put out on to the streets to do the jobs properly. I think if we all started banging the drum by requesting centralisation, then a few bottoms might start tweaking and they might move more to our side - instead of being against us Excuse me! I think I was dreaming before you on the E7 topic - get in the queue

From Google Answers; The word 'cobweb' is the problem. I know that cob is the old term for a spider, therefore, a cobweb is a spider web. The problem is that, in my house (and the houses of a few other people I know), there are cobwebs and spider webs. A cobweb is a single strand of dust, whereas spider webs are multi-stranded in a pattern. |

I knew I should have said something along the lines of being more of a burlesque type than a maid type
