Im a big lad, 6ft tall, almost as wide, our lad is taller, not quite as wide, hes 16 - almost 17. We are moving house, mums gone to work Now when i had gout (believe me, thats painfull, worse than childbirth), I was asked to do 2 days driving a truck, on went my STC* and i hobbled for two days, taking painkillers, rubbing on pain relief, got through it and got paid.. Come to load the van with stuff to day, big-lad hobbles out his bedroom "cant walk dad, sprained my ankle playing footy"..... the youth of today Muggins has loaded the van for 1 run.

Come to load the van with stuff to day, big-lad hobbles out his bedroom "cant walk dad, sprained my ankle playing footy"..... the youth of today Muggins has loaded the van for 1 run. ![]() In these situations, I have always taught my kids that there is a kind of 'Quid pro Qou'. Your lad should be told that for HIS help in loading & unloading the van with the family's possessions, YOU will, free of charge transport HIS belongings & possessions to the new house & that they will be the last items transported, so that HE does not welch on the deal. You should also tell HIM that as an individual HE is at liberty to refuse to help with the move, for whatever reason. But should he take this course of action, YOU will be at liberty not to transport HIS belongings & possesions & HE will have to fund the moving of HIS possessions HIMSELF, by taxi, van or whatever. Just leave his stuff at the old home & stop wiping his ar*e all the time!!! Source; Brummie Cabbie's Parental Logic; Volume 1 |
