| Post subject: | Taxi Driver Business Plan |
Hi I am considering starting a taxi company in a small village in Somerset, the only thing stopping me is of course finance! However the bank / prince's trust will agree to help me if I can produce a business plan. Unfortunately I have no idea what to put in the plan and was wondering if..... a) anyone had a business plan for a taxi company? b) anyone could give me some ideas of what to put in the plan? Thanks in advance Nick |

Hi Nick, I started my own business this year and had to produce business plans and financial forcasts to obtain funding. Iam more than willing to help you with "format" although the content will have to come from you. I also have some Cash flow Forcast templates that will auto calculate your Profit and Loss account and Balance sheet. I could also put you in touch with some agencies who offer funding for new business ventures. If you email me your phone number to gateshead.angel@virgin.net, I'll get back to you as soon as I can. B. Lucky ps. I have a fan club on here made up of some "spoon" from Yorkshire who tries to berate everything I do, all I can tell you is that we are working to the business plan we wrote last year and we will finish our first year ahead of target and in profit. oh and it was good enough to get the funding we required. |

Thanks in advance Nick Do you mean Taxi Company or Private Hire Company? What experience do you have in this field? Do you have a P/H or H/C drivers license and is the area you intend to work from de restricted? Normally a person or persons setting up a private hire firm has a complement of drivers that have promised to work on the radio circuit. Where do you intend to get the drivers and vehicles from in order to generate an income? No one will give you investment until you can show how you intend to generate the income. Best wishes JD |

I will clarify.... I am taking a hackney carriage knowledge for the area I live in having been a hackney carriage driver for a private hire company in a different area for the last 12 years. I intend to operate one vehicle in a local town/village. No problem with restrictions, the only restriction is that I must have a wheelchair access vehicle. Regards Nick |

Regards Nick So, you need finance to purchase a vehicle. Considering there are several types of Wheelchair accessible vehicles that can be licensed just what type of outlay do you expect? Why cant you purchase one on credit, or is that why you want a business plan? Best wishes. JD |

Not being funny, but have you tried Cab Direct, they can normally sell you a vehicle, with all the finance package you require. Again the interest rate could be higher than others, but you are on the road earning.

from what i have seen occur around me,,there is always plenty of business to be had from already existing operators , i asume u are referring to private hire,,,the firm we are with right now is so big their management style is up their backside,,so new operators are cropping up all the time and taling plenty of business,,we know this cos not only do we see them but our pockets are also feeeling the pinch,,,so if you manage to get a few initial drivers and few cars,,,the business is their for the taking,,good luck |
