I heard today, Thursday, that on Friday the PCO are having a meeting with trade bodies to tell them that the guy on the knowledge who murdered his wife has decided not carry on with the knowledge. I believe this is correct so wait and see.

That would probably be in his best interests.

There's a limit as to what previous convictions can be considered 'spent' 'done their time' 'paid of their debt' etc.

Killing someone should never be spent, looney or otherwise.

He should stick to Minicabbing, no one will bat an eyelid over there, as long as he pays his radio does.

i understand that the guy has decided not to continue with the knowledge..........well that's good news but i hope the trade orgs don't just accept that and move on. They need to push for a proper investigation into why he was even considered a fit and proper person.

They need to ask questions about TfL and the PCO; what their agenda is and also question if Mary Dowdye and Jeroen Weinmer are the right candidates to be holding the positions they do.

A couple of other questions i would like to see answered:

The guy is currently driving a private hire vehicle. Doesn't Steve Wright (not the DJ) think it's outrageous that a convicted killer is driving a minicab (ok, i'm sure he may not be the only one but he's certainly high profile) and if so why hasn't he instructed his members to follow suit and protest against this stupid situation.

One of the trade orgs who were so vociferous in their condemnation yesterday actually knew about this chap sometime ago and wanted it kept quiet...............why ? They answered it was because of the best interests on the London taxi trade! Would it have been in our best interests if this guy had killed someone in his taxi and then it came out he was a convicted killer ?

Who was that? (PM)

Some trade reps wanted their external activities kept quiet on another subject regarding Minicabs! :D

With regard to Dowde and Weimar, they're using the PCO as a stepping stone, then they will be off to the private sector.

An HEO rank within the Police used to be in charge, they weren’t going any higher and that’s why we used to have decent folks like Roy Ellis in charge.
I remember some trade mouths in the 90's calling for the Police to relinquish their control over the taxi trade, I wonder what these same 'reps' are saying now?

I'm sure the same guys are asking why the heck can't we be back under Met Police control!!

I'm glad you get my point, all trade reps have skeletons.......some a lot more serious than others if my memory serves me correctly: A particular police station in north London rings disturbing bells for me.

Dowde and Weimar should be kicked out asap and made to clean toilets.

who was what ??

trade reps have skeletons? never a true word said so far.

This is all a smoke screen. This all started because another taxi driver wants his badge back after serving a long sentence for drugs. Dowdye won't give it back so the mini cab driver was dug up. Another taxi driver a yellow badge served his time and got his badge back. He did murder to. he's driving a taxi today.

Who?

This is news to me, and I think it's fair to say I'm partial to a reasonable amount of information from the enforcement side of the trade.

GBC wrote. Who? First I've heard of it..

Many have skeletons in cupboards. I can't think of one that hasn't even if quite trivial. You have an ex skeleton on the white stuff. Another that sold it. They're gone now, well one has anyway. One that nicked work from his fellow members, not once but twice. He was as high as you could get. Another actually promoted mini cabs, he's high up, and in the same organisation as the last one. Another rep who went to the carriage office trying to be the big I am with a non member but then lost the complaint. Then lied to his members and said he hadn't been there, oh and he uses mini cabs to get about, what a sod whatever next. I'll rest there for a while and save the best until last.
When a top skeleton was told about the knowledge boy killer he replied. Its nothing to do with him its up to the carriage office and he only represented his members. Which is true I suppose.

The murderer? Yes a yellow badge in Essex. I know his name but it shouldn't be posted on this forum as it might appear to be a witch hunt. Not that its stopped others before.

i must be so bleeding naive! I honestly thought that candidates were scrutinised before they came onto the knowledge and only allowed to do it if they were fit and proper persons. I also thought that if someone got done for any serious criminal act (and i consider drug offences serious) then they would be out on their ear!

Was it as bad as this when we were under the auspices of the Met Police ?
