Just get one fitted onto a roofrack bar. Plays havoc with the mpg, but if he can run a merc at present, that won't faze him.

Here the conditions state a taxi must have an approved roofsign.
What's it say in yours?

I don't think not having a top sign will invalidate the insurance, but it will be a breach of license.

Shouldn't this be in the Scots section if we're referring to the Scottish act?

Panoramic roof, the only solution is to fit bars and have a suspended approved sign, I'm almost certain he'll be breaking terms if he's swanning about with only a dash mounted for hire sign in the window.

Would I be right that the sign must be there or the insurance is null and void

Use roof bars, a lad round our way has got a Peugeot with a nearly all glass roof, he fitted a roof bar so he could fit a top sign.

Can't find anything in the 1982 act which mentions top signs, so it's down to your council's conditions.

BTW CC is right, this should be in the Scottish section.

2 years ago i fetched a "frame" from the car factory at liverpool, took it to an engineering firm to be repaired and returned it, i lifted it with one hand, the guy said dont drop it its cost £30K

it sits on the boot of cars to hold rear spoilers while the adhesive sets

glue em on i say

It must be a somewhat exciting experience sliding along the road upside down in an accident with all that panoramic glass between you and the tarmac... a real toupee shredder :?
