Farmer turned taxi driver Bill Tonkin took the overall championship ploughing cup in this weekend's Crewkerne Young Farmers Club annual ploughing match.
Mr Tonkin, of Cheddon Fitzpaine, sold his farm several years ago but his ploughing skills also won him first in class and awards for best finish and best ploughing with a Ford or New Holland tractor.
Mr Tonkin and his son, Donald, took the majority of the awards at the match, held on land next to the A303, near Lopen Head, by kind invitation of Mitchell Brothers of Waterloo Farm, Merriott.
Donald Tonkin took home the cup for the best ploughing by a member of any Young Farmers Club and the Challenge Cup for the best ploughing with a Massey Ferguson tractor and/or plough.
There were 81 competitors in eight classes.
