School run's now a taxi service http://blogs.mirror.co.uk/dear-miriam/2 ... rvice.html Dear Miriam, My daughter started infant school in September and so did a little boy who lives nearby. On the second week of school his mum asked me if I could take him to school as her regular childminder had let her down. I didn't mind helping her out but she's been taking advantage of me and dropping him off at my house every morning. His grandmother picks him up in the afternoons. I'm guessing she thinks it's no skin off my nose because I don't work and I'm going to the school anyway. I don't enjoy taking care of other people's children and I'm annoyed at her for using me as an unpaid childminder. Jo Dear Jo, It's OK to ask you to help her out of a jam but quite another to expect you to carry on taking her child to school. She may be a busy working mum but she should tell you what permanent arrangements she's making to sort out this problem. You've shown you're a good neighbour. Don't agree to be a free travel service for this child any more unless you're completely happy to take on such a major responsibility. |

Just tell her you have had a visit from social services and the council licensing department asking why you are not registered as a child minder or a taxi driver. |
