Whether he's resigned as school governer or not I would still make him get a CRB check as a mayor's job is to attend functions and the likes of school plays where kids are about. Maybe he has something to hide or does he just think being mayor that he is above the law. If he is just offended then that in itself is offensive to everyone who does have to submit a CRB. |

Suely no one needs a CRB just to watch a school play?....well, thats is unless the school is doing a performance of the musical "Hair" |

As a school governor he should show a better example of leadership to the children, and not throw his toys out of the pram and act like one.

I doubt he has anything to hide, if he had he wouldnt have gone public over the CRB checks His arguement about never being in contact with kids is irrelevent, i know taxi drivers who only do nights/weekends and only see drunks... |

isn't this what this new quango is all about with everyone who has contact with kids needing to register he should realise that as a school governor he should be setting an example or is it the idea of forking out £75 to register that got up his nose |

Time for some modicum of sanity to be restored to the nations thinking...or else all the kids of today will grow up neurotic jibbering wrecks and then become even more paranoid as they themselves become parents...

How can a school governor not come into contact with the kids? When I was a governor part of the tasks that you had to perform were school visits to see how the classes were run and observe teaching. There were also disiplinary hearings to deside if kids should be excluded. |
