OK thanks guys. On a legal note how am I fixed for driving a retired cab for private use on an existing PCO plate? Would I need to get a normal MOT certificate or will the PCO plate be enough even though I'm not using it for work? I suppose I should ask my insurance company to be certain, but thought you guys would know.

I don't have any access to old handbooks or anything. I believe the Driver was launched in 1993? (not sure). So what are the main differences between the two models? I've read that there is extra legroom in the Driver. But how exactly is this achieved and by how much? (I'm 6'0 tall so I was wondering how cramped it might be). Were pre-Driver cabs drum brakes all round or did they all have discs at the front? Thanks for any help.

The Fairway had the same suspension as the previous FX4S / FX4S Plus model....the front was the old kingpin and bushes system. The rear axle on the fairway was also the same as the previous model and the brakes were shoes all round. New newer fairway.....'K' registration on had brake pads to the front and the newer suspension both front and rear. IMO the old model was superior. CC

You will need a normal MOT.

I was just asking the question and you gave me a straight answer. Thanks.
