I popped into town today to make a start on the Christmas shopping. As I had the day off, I took the Bus down there had a leisurely lunch and hit the shops. 2 hours later and loaded with bags, I headed towards the rank. First on rank is a Blue VW van thing. I open the side door and am greeted with the sight of 3 rear facing jump seats, no rear seats and a tools lying where the rear seats used to be. I just looked at the young Asian driver, shook my head and took the Skoda sitting behind him. Of course he's then out asking me to get in his vehicle, so I told him I was a licensing officer from Luton, and his Taxi was a disgrace, and I'd be speaking to my counterpart in North Herts in the morning. He didn’t want to say anything else. What a dick, operating a Taxi with seats removed. FFS.

I did, but I'm not one for bubbling other drivers. I suspect the guy who was behind him will do though, apparently he's always causing problems with his van, and this is affecting the decent driver’s reputation. Hitchin’s quite a small town and locals can easily be put off. |

I did speak with the L.O today. After due consideration, I thought why the hell should a numpty like that ruin the reputation of the majority. I gather one of the on street guys will be paying him visit today with advice on how to present a Taxi for hire to paying punters. |
