Are there any charges for dropping off there? I'm off down there at 3 in the morning. I've not been down in ages and the last time I went down there it was free.

No charge for dropping, as long as you drop and go.

If the ramp up to the drop off zone is open its free but at certain times usually when its peak crush (05.00 to 06.00 in am) the police occassionally close off the drop off zone and all vehicles have to go into the car parks to drop £1.00 for the red zone if you are in and out quick I've come across this quite often usually the closures are for about half an hour

PS Stansted is a lot quiter than it was a couple of years ago so these closures are less frequent

If you mean going to the loo, You can't leave your vehicle unattended at the drop off zone so you would need to either use the car park or just wait a couple of minutes and use the toilets at the services.

Was talking to a family member who is a copper there. He reckons the airport decide to shut the drop off zone now and again and it makes them about 8 grand in a day.Nice work if you can get it!
Nice run down there though Nigel.Remember the first speed camera is 20 miles on the A14(it's late,I think that's right),the second one 13 miles later, not that I take much interest in 'em!!
Regards
Steve

You haven't been for a while have you? They are average speed cameras now.

If I remember rightly there's one just after a bridge on the right just after the Corby turn off round the bend. I'll keep my eyes open for them.

Sod the A1 from Newark, it takes ages to get from our way over to the A1, it's only 10 minutes longer going the M1 A14 but it's a faster road and not so many speed camera's knocking about. They missed their plane anyway, nothing to due with me they'd booked the cab for the wrong time.
