A TX1 with under 50K, for under £10K.

That's a deal and a half, I'm tempted myself.

It's a former SO8 Met Pol vehicle, so will have been main dealer serviced all it's life with little use.

Anyone wanting a TX, I'd think about this one.

It may even be Euro 3 converted for London.

You have an age restriction on purpose built taxis? We don't.

Sunny Gosport in Hampshire (Biggest town on the south coast without a railway station)

Our conditions from the LA website

other than in exceptional circumstances, the vehicle submitted by the applicant on initial
application or transfer must be no more than three years old. In the case of a vehicle
adapted for disabled and wheelchair accessibility confirmation that the vehicle is subject
to EC Whole Vehicle type approval or a UK Low Volume Type Approval.

There are some 1989 G reg's owned by the fleet people.

However, all 21'000 (apprx) London taxis are now Euro 3 emission compliant, irrespective of age.

When the new 10 year limit comes in around 2015 (Probably be a 12 year limit after negotiation) its goodbye pensioner taxis ltd, and lots more work for those drivers who are willing to invest in their trade by running a new taxi.
