nice subject ....... but seriously had a bad one last week and he was happy to cough up apologetically etc since then he has apparently complained to my boss who says i charged more than is on the fare chart - and that i must repay the difference. anyone else experience of this ? as the amount on the fare chart would just cover the cleaning cost and doesnt make any inroads on lost working time. thanks |

I think the fairest way to sort this type of problem would be to take an amount up front to ensure there is money to have the vehicle valeted and then to produce a reciept for the same and if there is any change then return it to the punter. This situation should not be used to make extra money. You do however have to consider any time that is taken off the road when you would normally be working. It maybe an idea to have prices from local valeting companies in your vehicle for the punter to see. |

whats the average Bowking charge these days...our LA says £70 which seems a tad hefty to me!! |

Its not hefty at all blood, what about that airport run you had to turn down because the seats where still wet after cleaning, what about the loss of earnings, from the bookings you have to pass on to another company |

Our charge is a maximum of £100. If you have cloth seats it can take a day to dry out. The most that I have ever charged was £80 which was the previous maximum. I suppose that if you have a charge on your tarriff sheet then that is the maximum that you can charge. You can always send the punter a bill for loss of earnings which I believe would be a civil matter and you could then chase this up through the small claims court. |

£40 plus the fare...... If you can get it out of them!! Doors are locked at night.....I take a good look at 'em before they get in and get them to speak..... IMO 95% avoidable 
Then again have had one business lady who had not been drinking, yawned carrots..... but it was down to travel sickness 
But she was good enough to help me clean it out at her abode, got twice the fare and half the soiling charge 
In 23 years 10 bowkers and all paid up..... not bad averages

hi yes there is a fare chart which has the actaul soiling charge on displayed in the vehicle. and just to confirm it was v v sudden - up to that point he seemed ok. total w***er |

I've had a few where they've been sick and had no money, I give them 3 options. 1. Pay up on the spot. 2. Go to the Police Station and get charged from criminal damage. 3. I'll call back tomorrow for the money give and me your phone as a deposit. |

So what charge does the boss think is right for having to clear that lot up? Suggest you take the punter to the small claims court for loss of earnings, or tell the boss that's the avenue you are thinking about. |

Rubbing the b*stards nose in it......or smearing it around his front door and over his front windows (admittedly difficult if he lives in a tower block), or in the case of a kebab, putting it through the letterbox, are possibly equally dodgy.....but very satisfying

After a few days they are wondering where that smell is coming from.
