Just heard that A company from the southside of Glasgow has had their number nicked by a rival from the north of the city. Seems the company somehow forgot to pay their phonebill, the rival picked this up from a driver contacted BT and took the number. I do not see how this is possible, just shows the nature of some of the firms operating here. |

They won't pull the plug straight away they'll give them time. Even if it has been cut off they have to put the number back into the pool for a minimum of 5 years before they can give it out again I think. |

No but perhaps the company were persitently forgetful and maybe BT pulled the plug on them permanently in which case the number will become available again |

Similar thing happened here a few years back. Turned out the number in question didn't belong to the first company but was still the property of a third party who had an arrangement with them. He did a secret deal with the second company and switched the phone lines over to them without informing the first company. Hope that makes sense

Hope that makes sense ![]() we've got one (phone number) that's been with 5 different companies (so far). When the owner changes, he takes it with him. AFAIK next to no-one rings it. The original company it belonged to is kaput, along with the name. |
