UNIONS TOGETHER 23rd March 2010

Video: I remember...

We all remember the last period of Tory rule. These memories of low wages and jobs being lost are more than statistics – they are powerful images of the lives we lived.

Send the message below to your friends and get them to watch this video as well - the more we remember, the more committed to fighting we will be!

I must admit we have a great deal to be thankful for.... when Labour came to power, it took over a government that was financially in the best position this country have been in for years... only a few more years and we would have been totally out of debt...

We should be grateful that it will now take 20 or so more years to get back to where we were then... oh and how happy we all wear when Mr Brown sold off half of our gold reserves.... at a special knock-down price..

Not to mention.. MPs doing silly things about their expenses.... But we should be happy
because the rules have now been changed...( it's a pity that they haven't changed law"s so that they can be prosecuted and live by the same laws we have to). and if they stay in power may be Mr Brown can earn 20 million pounds the same as Tony Blair while the rest of the country tries to put food on the table and a roof over their heads.

I don't think I should mention that finally MPs are starting to look at closing the borders, I might be classed as racist if I did...

These last 15 years have certainly been an experience....

Hmmm! Valid points/arguments, that show, perhaps, that the only choice we face (between political parties) is whether we want to be metaphorically mugged with a gun or a knife...not whether there is any chance to be able to avoid the mugging!

I do remember and only too well!! I have to admit to being better off under Labour even with all their faults......
They are the party that look after those on low incomes and have found if it wasn't for their tax credit system I would have gone down the pan years ago.....
I feel they have cushioned the effect of this recession far more than most realise and have made the right choices for the future..... even though they maybe unpopular with many right wingers who tend to ply the doom and gloom scenario as was often seen in the media..... We have come out of recession but only just.... Caution is the better bet at present....
The last recession under the Tories was exceptionally bad with high interest rates unemployment and repossessions....
It's not this government that caused this recession but the greed and irresponsibility of bankers banking on the greed of those who borrowed beyond their means..... The ones who would vote Tory in the first place!!
I hope to God (If He exists?) the Tories don't win.....
Better a hung parliament than the evil, uncaring "I'm alright jack" attitude of the tories...... :-|

If you are going to vote then vote anything but Tory.....
I do remember very very well!!

My father always said I'd never be rich enough to vote for the Conservatives and I always said I'd never be poor enough to vote for Labour. So far I have been very fortunate or could it be that I have always worked for my living and I find it very frustrating when Labour are in power cos things always seem such hard work when you're working and so easy when you're not. I don't mean to be nasty but I don't happen to think that everybody is entitled to a flat screen t.v, latest mobile phone or new car. I'm fed up of people who do not justify themselves being given things on a plate and I don't think there is a party around that will ever make them

Illegal wars, sending our troops to fight for the Americans.

Labour sat and watched as Rover went to the wall, thus seeing off our last major car manufacturer.

I like the fact their union paymasters are so p*ssed off they're starting to all go on strike......and the fact that Tory union laws are stopping the strikes.

Under labour our hospitals have become places of infection.

Labour bailed out the banks who continue to sh*ft us.

Remember the Labour cash for honours scandal?

I dont normally agree with jaspar.....but I think he summed this mob of leeches quite correctly.

When cruel leaders are replaced, the new leaders become cruel in their place.

Well it is nice to see... that the taxes I have paid over the years have cushioned your existence..... but personally I prefer to pick my own charities..... I also forgot to mention the raiding of pensions..... Nevermind you can now work to your 70....

Toots, You'll always get those who do not intend to work no matter who gets into power..... They are called the "underclass" or criminals, and have always existed....... What can you do? Whip them into submission? Educate them which doesn't seem to work? Deport them all to some uninhabited island to fend for themselves? Shoot them all? What do you suggest?
There are also tens of thousands of honest working families that rely on tax credits because their employers only pay the minimum wage. It doesn't mean they all own the expensive luxuries that you suggest......
I just remember the last recession under the tories..... It was far more harsher than the one we have just come through.....
Maybe we need a hung parliament to get us out of the mess.....? :-|

I'm voting Conservative.

I don't want my street signs being written in Urdu in the future.

If Labour hadn't let in half of the Indian Sub Continent and Turkey, the unemployment figures would have been half of what they stand at today.

And as for trade unions . .

I will vote tactically as always..... I have no real political preference only sharing my experience as to my situation.... :-|

No matter who gets in they all get it wrong somewhere down the line.....

Truth: Look after No1.... Look after those who look after No1.... The rest will just have to take care of themselves.... :-|
