Why?

You are picking up in an area you are not licensed.

The 1976 act allows a vehicle to pick up a hire and reward job anywhere within England/Wales/Scotland, but nowhere else.

If we are saying it's legal then what's stopping 1000s of Romanian/Bulgarian vehicles coming over here and doing likewise, but full-time? :?

Working down south these type of jobs have been offered to most companies.

For example a regular rang up Express in Maidstone and was picked up from Marseille.

I was lucky enough to gain a trip to Gatwick from Euston with some Danes today, but apart from that, the London ranks look a bit like the set of '28 days' at the moment.

Amazing how the Capital relies so heavily on planes to make it busy.

I did hang up at Gatwick for a bit, chanting 'taxee, taxee boss?' to anyone who passed by, all to no avail though.

Coaches are licensed in a different way. If they have an international operators license, which they need to do any work outside the UK, they are probably OK.
