How often does your council require you to have a medical for your badge.
Wycombe district are now 3 yearly and £253 non refundable application charge including £36 crb fee with a stipulation that you use your own doctors. If you are unsucceful in any way you can lose £383 with a medical
costing £130 at the doctors (a doctor less than 1 mile away only charges £80.00) can the council insist on charging you for an unsuccesful application £217.00 for a 3 year joint badge seems a bit of a rip off.

Falkirk Council on application, then 46, 51, 56, 61years and yearly thereafter. Cost included in application/renewal. Presently under review, as doctors say no change in charge since 1999. LO also voicing concerns over age gap from 18*-41 years, he would prefer 31, 35 and 41 be considered.

*youngest age for taxi licence.

Anyone who gets turned down would have a very good case at the small claims court.

Took my P/H medical with them, and it was a Polish doctor, no probs had to take a copy of medical records with me, but think records bit has been dropped now, it did used to be only your own doctor at York, but got it changed last year, as they were happy because DVLA will accept these medicals.
On another point i hold an HGV licence which now requires medical at around the same time as P/H, what needs to be done so i dont have to pay for 2 medicals every 5 years.
