Mr Administrator,
I wish to move the following motion,

" This site, notes with deep concern, the possibile abuse of taxi purchases by Cheltenham Taxibus, owners of Airport Carz"

Ii has been brought to the sites attention, that Cheltenham Taxibus has ordered new tx2s from Taxi International.

Mr Administrator,
These vehicles are not ideal by any streach of the imagination, for taxibus use, they have doors that open to the middle of the road, they are expensive and they only have 5 passenger seats.

No one need to tell Chelmsford Taxibus what vehicles, to use would be arogant, we are talking here of one of our nations top taxibus operators
indeed many who start services make them secret visits.

concer here is the reputation of this company who are well know as a company who operate to the "fringes of the law"

Mr Administrator it is felt that this company are out to cause confusion with taxis, what they are doing is probably lawfull, but I say "dont do it just because you can"

I MOVE

REQUEST A POLL.

Yorkie,

Are you referring to the order from Chelmsford or Cheltenham?

If its Chelmsford, heres the basic story for the thread

TRANSPORT: Taxi trade is smooth-running
PETERBOROUGH-BASED Conders, LTI Vehicles' main dealer for East Anglia, has won a contract to supply a new fleet of fully accessible purpose-built taxis to the largest taxi operator in Chelmsford.
Group Taxibus Ltd operates a wholly-owned fleet of more than 80 vehicles made up of Hackney Carriages, private hire, PSVs and coaches and has just commissioned Conders to supply them four brand new TXII vehicles, with more likely in the future.

Kevin Knightsbridge, owner of Group Taxibus Ltd, said: "We were quick to decide that TXIIs were the best way forward. One of the stipulations for the new vehicles was that they had to be wheelchair accessible with loading from the side – a requirement that the TXII was able to meet.

"Black cabs are proven in the job in terms of durability and manoeuvrability and from the start we were very confident they were the right choice. The drivers find them comfortable to drive while passengers have also commented on the levels of comfort.

"Above all, we have vehicles which will retain a high proportion of their value, backed by a fast, responsive after-sales service through Conders and LTI's local service agents."

Paul Stone of Conders added: "The deal with Group Taxibus represents a major order for us and confirms the faith of the company's owners in the purpose-built vehicle in an area where mainly saloon cars have normally been used as Hackney Carriages.

"The fact that they have chosen black cabs over non-purpose-built alternatives demonstrates the TXII's growing appeal to smaller and larger operators alike, in urban, rural and mixed areas."

I'm not sure there is a problem, so I don't second it.

The TXs are being bought to work the ranks, being driven by licensed cab drivers. Is that a problem?

One would like that to be happening at Manchester Airport, but there they are using anything that moves.

You can't have it both ways, by having a pop for then using un-licensed vehicles at Manchester, at the same time as having a pop at them using licensed vehicles in Chelmsford. :?

I don't like polls on forums, they probably make the elections in North Korea look fair. :?

Just say what you think Yorkie, you've never been shy in the past!

I can't really see what purpose they serve, since this is a discussion forum, it's not for electing people or deciding policies or suchlike.

Anyway, there's rarely black and white answers to questions, and the questions would have to be worded so carefully to compensate that you would then accuse us of manipulating the question.

And polls are open to manipulation on forums anyway.

I think it's better if people just say what they think and then others can read what they think.

Simple, innit :D
