The one you are talking about did not plead, he asked for donations to help his nomination on a point of principle.
He was talking about, not just people taking advantage of the system they were in but people taking advantage with butter on.
(you could use the same analagy with plates and use of or plates and pensions,inheritance,nest eggs etc;)
Anyway to put you right all the donations he collected were given back in full when he understood he could not afford to stand at the election and risked losing the deposit,
As is the case there are lots of mouths willing to shout but not many who are prepared to put there money where there mouth is.
