if you had the chance to design a piece of software to assist taxi drivers what would you pick to do? I have a software developer friend who is seeking ideas - could even be an iphone app - I suggest an app which would allow me to record all my taxi expenses - fuel, cleaning items bought, washes paid for etc so that it will help with my accounts.

whats your idea?

A nice and simple accounts Programme that Covers Cash, Cheque, Bacs, credit car Payments In....then Allows an Individual Vehicle Expenses aspect to it so that at a glance you can see exactly the Profit/Loss of any individual vehicle in real time and per mile running costs for fuel and repairs....Add to that another Expenses for Non Vehicle costs like Phone, Office Supplys, Drivers wages etc. and with a tool to allow forecasting future targets.

Add to that the Ability to Start such a programme off at any time of year to suit the Owners start of their financial year....with the ability to break it down into monthly chunks so as you can see how its performing..and Finally to have it print it out so that it is easily usable by an accountant to finalise the books for the Taxman....Maybe Excel Based.

Thats what Id like

Oh yeah...and it has to be dead cheap and not rip you off like some of theses accounts programmes do..
