Don't know about you and your area, but I hate bank holidays!!!!

WE use tariff 2 on all bank holidays, we don't have a night rate, (one of only a hand full of councils that don't)

Our tariff 2 is time and 1 3rd.

The general public always say its double time, I guess that scares the hell out of them, as even with tariff 2 running I always lose about 25% of my normal Mondays takings on a bank holiday. Sure the town is quieter, money is even tighter, kids need school uniforms etc, because of this does anyone think that bank holidays should be normal tariff, if drivers don't want to work for normal tariff then fine, take a day off and let us that think its just a normal working day get on with it.

I know and understand that even though we are on tariff 2 we can use driver discretion and use tariff 1, the problem is the public just assume tariff 2 and expensive, rather than ask.

The only time ours goes up is at Christmas and new year, why not ditch the extra if your loosing money get it dropped at the next fare review, mind you you can charge less if you like even if your meter is set to automatically to tariff 2, or can you just use tariff 1, and let the folks know with a big card in the cab window

We have an extra £1 a job on bank holidays, and it can help.

However most times a bank holiday's trade is on a par with a Sunday, but with twice as many cars out.

Same here we only charge an extra £1 per job, but, August bank holiday is always very busy on both the Sunday and the Monday
