Those of you who receive taxi and PH monthly have a look at the adds for skodas and you will see they are advertised as plus VAT, Considering Skoda has not charged VAT for nearly a year how are these advertisers getting away with charging this on a new car??/ |

Skoda are probably guilty of false advertising because as you should know, all new vehicles are subject to VAT. No ifs, buts or maybe's. They all have VAT added. Now Skoda maybe offering money off the sale price equivelent to the amount of VAT that is payable but nevertheless VAT is still payable. |

Go into any skoda dealers and they have big signs up stating no VAT until next year |

No business can just decide that they are not going to charge VAT on goods or services that are VATABLE. They put the no VAT bit in big letters to fool customers and it obviously works with you.

http://www.ukcarscrappagescheme.co.uk/2 ... free-deal/ Told you so, read it properly Skippy. *Reduction applied to the RRP including factory fitted optional extras and is equivalent to the VAT applicable at the time. VAT is still applicable and will be shown on the customers invoice. |

Look at a laptop in any UK airport Dixons, same thing "No VAT" (No vat relates to a 15% price reduction, UK vat will still show as paid, if you are VAT registered you may claim the VAT back on top of the 15% discout) £100 plus 17.5% vat = £117.50 a 15% discount = £99.45 claim the vat back and you will have paid £81.95 |

GD, how does it fool anyone? if the buyer is paying a price equivalent to NOT paying vat, its hardly a con, PLUS a vat regd buyer can THEN still get the VAT back - double bubble! Plus a non-vat regd buyer (like most PH/HCs) will benefit regardless with the lower price Quote: I will bet that there is a small asterix next to this with small print underneath mentioning that they are giving a discount to the value of the VAT. No business can just decide that they are not going to charge VAT on goods or services that are VATABLE. They put the no VAT bit in big letters to fool customers and it obviously works with you
